giving the color versatility for fall

The color red was spotted on handbags throughout New York, Milan, London and Paris Fashion Weeks. The types of red handbags that were on the arms of models sent down the ready-to-wear runways included the daytime clutch, top handle satchel or Lady Bag, tote bags, hobos, evening clutches and bucket bags.

Colorful handbags were a huge trend on the spring 2011 runways and appear to be continuing into the fall. Although for fall, the dominant “IT” color seems to be red, there were a handful of other colors that made an appearance on the runway for fall 2011. Red was joined by deep forest green, dark mustard and classic colors such as winter white, black and shades of brown.

The red handbag is no stranger to popularity. In 2003 the red handbag was a “must-have” for handbag fans across the globe and the look at the time was to pair a red handbag with either all-black or black and white ensembles.
